This high-end spotting scope is remarkably light at only 1.5 kg and yet very robust thanks to its magnesium body. It is waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging. Kowa offers a ten-year warranty. Eyepieces and case are sold separately.

Focusing is done via a dual-speed focuser. Two rotations of the coarse focus cover the entire range. The fine focus enables particularly precise adjustments – ideal for photography.

Visual Image Quality

Spotting scopes are primarily designed for observation. For nature enthusiasts, the bright Kowa TSN-883 with its large apochromatic objective and low weight is highly attractive. Our test model is equipped with the 25-60x zoom eyepiece.

Astronomy – Moon and Stars

At night we observe the Moon and Jupiter with the Kowa Prominar TSN-883. The scope delivers excellent contrast and sharpness with virtually no false color even at 60x magnification.
